ENVIRONMENTAL CUES
In the Environmental Cues class, your dog will embark on an engaging journey of discovery, learning to interpret the subtle signals of their surroundings and respond with poise and confidence. With practical exercises designed to mirror everyday situations, your pup will master the art of automatic sits, settling when you relax, patiently waiting at open doors, and finding their spot when the doorbell chimes.
This dynamic four-week module not only enhances obedience but also nurtures your dog’s instinctual behaviors, enabling them to thrive in social settings while effortlessly aligning with the expectations of therapy dog work or the distinguished AKC Canine Good Citizen certification. This module lasts four weeks and is priced at $140 via Venmo or Zelle, or $145 if paid by credit card. “How to Speak Dog” is a prerequisite for this module.
AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC)
Since its inception in 1989, the Canine Good Citizen program has set the standard for what it means to have a well-behaved dog. Every training module at Lisa’s Nosy Puppers Dog Training is designed to prepare you for this essential class and the subsequent examination.
To achieve the title of Canine Good Citizen, you and your furry friend will need to successfully complete ten evaluations that focus on various skills such as handling, obedience, loose leash walking, and the ability to engage politely with other handlers and their dogs, along with maintaining long-distance stays.
The course extends over six weeks and costs $250 (which covers the examination fee) when paid through Venmo or Zelle, or $258 if using a credit card, though please note that this does not include the AKC registration fee. Prior to enrolling, participants must complete the “How to Speak Dog” course.
THERAPY DOG
At Lisa’s Nosy Puppers Dog Training, our therapy dog class offers a unique opportunity for you and your canine companion to make a positive difference in the lives of those facing challenges in various settings. This immersive six-week program focuses on enhancing your understanding of your dog’s personality and communication style while equipping you with the tools to manage interactions and alleviate stress for both you and your dog. As you both learn to navigate the intricacies of therapy work, you will foster a meaningful bond rooted in empathy and connection, preparing you to thrive in diverse environments.
While not every dog possesses the temperament to become a therapy dog, any dog can participate in this enriching class, which emphasizes the importance of human-dog interactions and emotional intelligence. The course fee is $210 through Venmo or Zelle, or $217 with a credit card, and please note that certification exams will be arranged through a therapy dog organization of your choice at an additional cost. Remember, prior completion of the “How to Speak Dog” course is required to join this module.
